There’s something so special about a true rustic country wedding—especially when it’s filled with personal touches, a whole lot of love, and a couple that’s willing to roll with the unexpected. That’s exactly the story of Rachael & Wesley’s big day, held right here at The Barn at Cedar Grove.
Like so many 2020 couples, Rachael & Wesley faced the challenge of navigating their wedding plans through a global pandemic. Originally set to say “I do” in May, they made the tough decision to reschedule to July, hoping restrictions would ease enough to celebrate safely with their loved ones. Even with a reduced guest list, their day was full of joy, laughter, and sweet country charm.
From the very beginning, Rachael had a vision for her wedding day: a barn ceremony, cowboy boots for the whole wedding party, and a laid-back country vibe. She and Wesley brought that vision to life with thoughtful details like navy gingham shirts for the groomsmen, delicate floral arrangements, and of course—boots all around.
The rustic charm of The Barn at Cedar Grove provided the perfect backdrop for their summer wedding, with our scenic property, weathered wood barn, and lush outdoor spaces blending seamlessly with their country-chic style.
Their love story began back in 2017, when Rachael & Wesley went on their first few dates. Rachael says she knew right away Wesley was “the one.” In July 2019, Wesley proposed by the creek behind their future home, making it a moment filled with meaning and personal history. From that moment on, the planning began.
Rachael had been following The Barn at Cedar Grove on Instagram, and after just one visit, she knew our venue was the perfect fit. We were honored to host their wedding and to help them bring their dream day to life—pandemic curveballs and all.
In Rachael’s own words:
"When growing up, I always had a picture in my mind of what I wanted my wedding to look like when I met the man of my dreams. I knew I wanted to be married at a barn and I wanted everyone in the wedding party to be in boots. After going on our first few dates in 2017, I knew Wesley was the one! In July 2019, Wesley proposed by a creek behind the house we live in now as a married couple! We immediately started planning for the wedding and I had seen one place I wanted to visit on Instagram, The Barn at Cedar Grove. As soon as we drove up to the barn, I knew this was the perfect place to say our "I do's". Not only is the place beautiful, but Amy, Missy, Sandy and the rest of the barn staff were so helpful and helped make the whole planning process so easy and fun (even during a pandemic)! Wesley and I are so happy to have been married at such a beautiful, perfect venue."
Even though the journey to the altar wasn’t exactly what they expected, Rachael & Wesley’s wedding day was filled with love, laughter, and moments they’ll never forget. Their story is a beautiful reminder that, no matter what challenges come your way, love always finds a way.
From all of us at The Barn at Cedar Grove, we are so happy to have been part of their special day. Congratulations again to Mr. & Mrs. Wesley — wishing you both a lifetime of happiness, love, and country sunsets.
